Replacing Your Mouthpiece

In this video Sanshi shows you step-by-step, how to fix or replace a beeswax didgeridoo mouthpiece.

Replacing your mouthpiece couldn’t be easier with our Didgeridoo Beeswax Replacement Mouthpiece kit and will take you about 15 minutes.

The example didgeridoo mouthpiece is 5cm (2″) outer diameter.

Our Mouthpiece kit is available for sale both at Didgeridoo Breath and Amazon

Instructions

1.Starting with a stick of beeswax, rest in hot water for 2-3 minutes until it becomes soft and pliable (don’t use boiling water or the wax will melt).

2. Dry the wax and roll with your hands on a smooth surface until it becomes round like a pencil. The thickness of the wax pencil will depend on the size of your didgeridoo mouthpiece . For an average sized didge, your beeswax pencil should be around 5mm diameter.

3. Press the wax stick on the inside rim of your didge mouthpiece and mould around until you meet the beginning.

4. Break off any excess wax. Mould the soft wax onto the mouthpiece of the didgeridoo. Be sure to push it inside the didgeridoo for a better grip.

5. Done! Your new beeswax mouthpiece is ready to go.
