Beatboxing Lesson 9
Lesson Overview
This lesson starts off with Nathan beatboxing at a frantic pace into his didgeridoo and he wants to show you how to do the same thing. First you will need to practice your circular breathing while performing the snare drum noise though.
Lesson Goals
- Practice doing a very fast version of your favorite beatboxing combination without using your didgeridoo
- Learn to keep your circular breathing technique going while performing your beatboxing at a sped up pace, using both your didgeridoo and also just your mouth
- Find the spot where the oxygen coming into your lungs is giving you a boost and allowing you to play with more energy
Training Tips
- You will feel this in your diaphragm. Doing sit ups in your free time will help you not to feel the discomfort so much
- Oxygen is a natural stimulant. If you are feeling tired try to take in as much oxygen as you possibly can to give you a boost. It won’t be long until you are hyper and enthusiastic again
- If you aren’t producing the sounds you would like with your didgeridoo then take a break from the didgeridoo for a while and practice using only your mouth
- Make sure you get this technique fully mastered before moving on to the next lesson. You are almost at the end of your beatboxing lessons with Nathan but you want to make sure you have perfected one before moving on to the next
Are you feeling lightheaded yet? Or is that extra bit of oxygen giving you more energy? Tell us how you’re getting along in the comment section below.
