Creative Rhythm Timing 3

Lesson Overview

Congratulations, you have made it to the last lesson of the creative rhythm timing section! At this point you should be very comfortable with your creative rhythm timing and ready to try some more advanced moves before you tie everything together.

Lesson Goals

  • Practice creating 5 part, 6 part and 7 part rhythms while making sure that you keep enough air in your lungs to keep the sound from your didgeridoo consistently strong
  • Practice creating the different rhythms with your hands and feet to get a feel for how everything fits together
  • Combine your longer patterns together to make much longer, multi-part patterns. Also try to incorporate some of your shorter patterns into the mix to create something really funky

Training Tips

  • If you are having trouble learning a rhythm, try writing the steps down on a piece of paper and keeping it in front of you. Having something to visualize can help your brain follow the rhythm more closely
  • Don’t underestimate your hands and feet for helping you to keep a rhythm. If you go off rhythm, switch the focus to your hands or feet temporarily to help you get back on track
  • Keep water close by to keep your mouth moist
  • If you are having trouble with these breathing techniques, don’t hesitate to go back and practice some of the previous lessons before trying to tie everything together
