Drop Jaw
Lesson Overview
The drop jaw technique allows you to lower the pitch of your drone. It is a great effect that will add more dynamics to your didgeridoo rhythms
Lesson Goals
- Be able to lower the pitch of your drone by dropping your jaw and loosening your lips
- Add this technique into your favorite rhythms
Training Tips
- At first, drop your jaw and loosen your lips all the way until the drone stops. Try to get it as low as possible
- The sound quality is not important when beginning to practice this technique
- If you play the didgeridoo to the side of your lips, try this technique front-on at first as it may be easier to begin with
- The backpressure of your didgeridoo will affect how easy this technique is to do. Didgeridoos with higher backpressure allow you to produce a bigger drop in the drone
