Circular Breathing on the Toot
Lesson Overview
In this lesson, Koji will share to us a technique on how to circular breath while tooting.
Lesson Goals
- Be able to circular breathe while playing a toot on a didgeridoo
Training Tips
- The phrase that we are going to practice in this lesson is dong—too–too–too–toot
- The dong sound is produced by releasing air from your diaphragm
- Take in air while producing the sound “dong”, then try to circular breathe in between toots
- Make sure you know first which rhythm do you like, for example in this lesson, Koji makes a fast tooting sound. To make it more comfortable and easier for you, try to add up pressure on your lips while you produce the continuous tooting sound
- You can also try different variations like a double wobble with a toot
- Practice doing the circular breathing on the rhythms that your prefer
