Layers Of Sound
Lesson Overview
In this lesson, we show you a different way of thinking about didgeridoo rhythms. It will help simplify the breakdown of rhythms and allow you to understand and play more complex rhythms
Lesson Goals
- Be able to listen to didgeridoo rhythms (your own or on CD) and identify the different technique layers
- Change your focus or mindset on how you listen
Training Tips
- Think of the different techniques as individual “instruments”, each with their own part. Each part can be quite simple, but in combination with other techniques/layers, form a complex rhythm
- This lesson is to create an awareness, a different way of thinking
- Moving from an intermediate to and advanced player is largely about learning how to feel, know and understand the music. This can really take your playing to a new level, without learning a single new technique
