Training Tips

  • Double rhythm is taking a base rhythm, making one small change and adding that new version to the original rhythm, making it twice the length. This forms your new base rhythm
  • Repeat this step to your new base rhythm by making a small change and adding it to the rhythm to form your next new base rhythm. This will be twice as long again
  • Keep repeating for as long as your brain can keep up
  • When creating your own double rhythm, start with something very simple. You only need to make small changes
  • Always include the breath in your rhythm as it is an essential technique to be able to continue playing the rhythm
  • See how many times you can double the length of the rhythm
  • It might help to write the rhythm down on paper so you can remember
