Didgeridoo Sounds: The Popping Bark
Lesson Overview
In this lesson, we show you how to make a super quick vocal pop. This technique sounds great and is an awesome addition to your didge rhythms.
Lesson Goals
- Make a quick vocal pop using the “ta” and “ka” tongue movement
- Use a high pitched vocal so your bark stands out clearly from your drone
- Play a double pop “ta-ta” or “ka-ka”
Training Tips
- Your voice doesn’t have to be loud. Most importantly, you keep your drone and airflow. You should feel like you are holding your breath and making a little vocal in your throat
- The higher pitched your voice is, the clearer you will hear the sound
- It’s best to play somewhere which you can best hear the sound coming out of your didgeridoo. The bathroom or kitchen works great
