Vocal Variations on the Didgeridoo
Lesson Overview
Often it’s the subtle sounds that really add dimension to your didgeridoo playing. In this lesson we show you how to blend your voice with your drone to make it super rich and strong
Lesson Goals
- Add your voice to your drone
- Try different pitches of your voice to find which pitches resonate best with your drone
- Be able to open your throat while adding your voice
- Find a new drone sound, using a combination of your lip vibration and voice
Training Tips
- You don’t have to add a loud voice. It’s more about the pitch of your voice rather than the volume
- This is a subtle technique, so make very small changes and listen carefully for the effects
- It’s best to play somewhere which you can best hear the sound coming out of your didgeridoo. The bathroom or kitchen works great
